Equipment for IDC

During the IDC dives you must use the same equipment as your future students will use. During the course dive you will play three roles: Instructor, Divemaster and student. Minimum equipment requirements for PADI instructor candidates are:

• BCD with inflator. Jackets preferred to wings
• Regulator with octopus and gauge. DIN or YOKE.
• Mask, fins, snorkel
• Weight belt
• Wetsuit or dry suit – suitable for the location and seasonal requirements
• Stopwatch
• Personal diving computer
• Analog compass (not a computer)
• One cutting tool e.g. knife or hook knife
• Slate with pencil and vest fitting
• PADI dive tables (blue RDP and electronic eRDP ML)
• Sound and light warning device e.g. buoy and whistle
• Ropes for tying knots
• Pocket mask for rescue
• Lift bag (recommended)
• Flashlight if you want to become an instructor for the Deep Diver, Wreck Diver, Night diver courses
